Buster's Third Birthday
Special cake for a special guy- recipe for fruit-juice sweetened carrot cake from "I Can't Believe This Has No Sugar" by Deborah E. Buhr. Makes great cake for dogs and breakfast for people! I bought this book when it first came out when Mr. Filmschool and I were first dating and I made him some weird carob date cake and he was like "are our children going to have to eat stuff like this??" It was the first time he mentioned children, we were 24 and 26 or something. YES! our children have to eat this!

We Love The Box Factory!
Always innovative, the captivating *bernadette* keeps the fun rolling! We were honored to be able to create some love in the form of cake for a several events:
Late Night Bubbles with bernadette- the poster art outpaced our frosting skills a wee bit, but the impressionistic look really took off with red hots on the bloomers!
GOLD Velvet for Under the Golden Gate:
fancy cupcakes representing a fairy tale castle!

Pump up the Joy!

An occasion for me to perform AND bring the cupcake joy! All we need is more outfits for Buster and dance moves to complete our entertainment enterprise! The kids loved the cupcakes and I think Mr. Filmschool did clap after my solos... but being the solo sax player- isn't it all solos? Anyway, an original jazz klezmer composition and 100 cat, dog and Star of David cupcakes kept us busy for awhile. We did create a Youtube video combining all the fun which may be one reason we didn't get around to blogging, but it could also be that there were so many amazing photos we couldn't pick the best ones. Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEtZv07Bf-g
so easy to put videos in the blog, I might have to post them all....
OH- Buster's cupcake photo went viral! Over 600,000 views on imgur and posted on about 10 other sites- it hasn't gone to his head to be famous- he still just likes doing tricks for treats!

World of Warcraft- you love it- we'll bake it

We are
loving our heart -shaped Daddy-O cake pans! Just like a famous baker on TV made for his mother- must be super special! We had to try a practice gluten-free, honey-sweetened, flourless chocolate cake- and we determined that it was too death-by-chocolate for a social chocolate cake eater. With the special imported Valrhona French chocolate ordered off the internet, though, I thought it was one of the best things I've ever tasted. The mocha frosting and whipped cream did cut the chocolate a little bit,
and the extra love helped!
I also had a big weekend playing sax, guitar and singing with my band "The Sugar Highs." I made honey-sweetened, vegan chocolate mocha cupcakes with pink glitter guitars, and I copied the lovely logo in frosting! Quite an event! Big news is that Buster did his break-dancing trick at the Assisted Living Center today, previously he had been too shy. Now to meld the cupcakes, singing/sax/guitar playing, and Buster breakdancing into one seemless Bichonoodle Circus Act- we could definitely get a Reality Show!
